What motivated you to become a councillor?

Public service and desire to improve amenities for people of Lichfield and District.

Background outside the council

Retired GP partner in Spires Practice in Lichfield & Burntwood 1992-2015.Retired in 2016. Previously two periods of service in Mission Hospitals in South Africa. Married to Judith. We have four children; two in Australia, one in France and one in UK. Three grandchildren.

Worship at Catholic Church in Lichfield, and member of Churches Together in Lichfield. Hope that my experiences in medicine and life generally will be useful to citizens of Lichfield and District.

Hobbies or interests

Keen railway enthusiast and member of Lichfield Rail Promotion Group, Great Western Society, Severn Valley Railway, Chasewater Railway Society and Southern African Railway Society.

Fascinated by politics (Liberal Democrat) and passionate about restoring Britain to renewed membership of EU, and church unity.

Enjoy walking and travelling and history.
