    Cabinet Member for Community Engagement

    Description

    The Cabinet Member will be responsible for:

    Strategic housing including housing need and investment, affordable housing planning and development; Housing Partnerships including regional and Central Housing Market area; homelessness strategy and statutory responsibilities; travelling families; private sector housing investment and regulation including affordable warmth, disabled facilities grants and grants for repairs; development of specialist housing with support; public Health and Safety, food safety, occupational health and safety, infectious disease; environmental protection- contaminated land, pollution, nuisance, air quality; public protection – taxi and liquor and miscellaneous licensing enforcement; health inequalities; Local Area Agreement partnership on health and social care.  Licensing services 

    Emergency Planning including compliance with legal responsibilities, Emergency response, Business Continuity, planning and testing of Business Continuity Service Plans, Liaison with emergency and other agencies including the Staffordshire Civil Contingencies Unit, Corporate, tactical and response lead, Providing equipment & Support for emergency response.

     

    Local Strategic Partnership and the District’s Community Strategy; strategic lead on the Local Area Agreement and Staffordshire’s Community Strategy; community development including, building social capital and community cohesion in the target areas; safer and stronger communities including Safer Community partnership; Local Area Agreement lead on safer, stronger agenda; Older People, Children and Young People, including Children’s Trust; Local Area Agreement on Children and Young People, including Children’s Trust; Local Area Agreement on children and young people’s agenda; the voluntary sector and Grant Aid and Locality Commissioning services from the voluntary sector; developing the Compact with the voluntary sector.
