What motivated you to become a councillor?
I wanted to make a difference for the better in peoples’ lives, both by helping individuals and families on a one to one basis and also by helping shape and change policy to help those most in need.
Background outside the council
I worked in housing associations for over 40 years, starting in community-based housing associations in Glasgow and moving on to regional organisations in the Midlands, ending up at Chief Executive/Managing Director level. I have also worked on major regeneration projects. I’ve served on the Board of housing associations since retiring.
Hobbies or interests
Walking, reading, theatre, film and music.
