What motivated you to become a councillor?
I wanted to be a stronger voice for the people of Burntwood than what I felt other councillors were offering. I enjoy working to help others and hope to do some good which will have lasting benefits for the community.
Background outside the council
I am married to Clare who is a nurse working in intensive care, we have 2 grown up children. I am a mental health nurse, I began my training in 1991 and have worked across many areas. I currently work in commissioning specialist mental health services. I previously served as a police officer between 1995 and 2002 but I preferred being a nurse.
Hobbies or interests
I enjoy football, I am an Aston Villa fan. I enjoy reading and travelling. I also enjoy listening to music and going to gigs. I ride a Vespa Scooter and enjoy the social side of this. We have 3 dogs which I enjoy walking in the beautiful countryside that we are so fortunate to have around us.
