What motivated you to become a councillor?

To promote change in Lichfield - helping to make it more lively, more diverse, and fairer.

Background outside the council

I am by profession a historian of seventeenth-century England, particularly the history of the English civil war or Revolution. I am the author of four books and many shorter works on the period and worked at Manchester and Keele Universities before retiring. I have lived in Lichfield since 1996 and have two adult children.
