Discretionary Business Rates Policy
The council has powers to offer discretionary rate relief to businesses/organisations to help sustain businesses by reducing their rates (NNDR) burden in specific circumstances, as well as support people live healthy and active lives, through providing discretionary relief to charities and amateur sports clubs.??
To do this, the council must have a discretionary business rates policy in place that describes the discretionary reliefs available, how to apply, how to appeal and what applicants may be awarded.
The council’s current discretionary business rates policy has been reviewed and an updated version is recommended for approval.
